THE LEMONHEADS – “IN THE MARGIN”

Evan Dando and the crew are back with their first new album from The Lemonheads in 20 years, Love Chant. They’ll be out on the road for a big tour, (hitting the Twin Cities on December 6, at the Fine Line) and are teasing it all with a new song, “In The Margin.” The riff heavy song will have to hold you until October 24th when the album comes out.

MOTÖRHEAD – THE MANTICORE TAPES

Lemmy, Fast Eddie and Philthy Animal, the trio held down Motörhead during their most beloved and rocking era. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the band forming, a previously “lost” recording (The Manticore Tapes) that started that iconic era has been unearthed. Recorded at Manticore Studios and resuscitated by long-time Motörhead producer, Cameron Webb, it’s an intriguing artifact showcasing the group before they jelled with a raw, rough and heavy energy.

BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN – TRACKS II: THE LOST ALBUMS

The best musicians are also great editors or work with fantastic ones. They edit their lyrics, they edit throughout the recording session, they choose the songs that go on the album and what order they go in. And, with great artists, the final product is a perfect statement of that time and place. The rest gets stored away, maybe forever. Bruce Springsteen has been steadily releasing albums since 1973 and is one of the best-selling artists of all time. With over 21 albums, he’s one of the most consistent artists (and editors) out there.

THE WHITE STRIPES – GET BEHIND ME SATAN (20THE ANNIVERSARY VINYL)

The White Stripes helped bring rock music back to the mainstream at the end of the nineties and aughts; when radio was deep in nu-mental, boy bands, and rap rock. They lasted nearly 15 years and put out six albums, won nearly every award they could, and earlier this year were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of Get Behind Me Satan this year with a reissue that features songwriting demos, alternate studio takes, and live versions of songs from the album.
