Tom Barnard Pays Tribute to Dan Culhane

Dan Culhane started at KQ in 1985 and was paired with Tom Barnard when he arrived in 1986. He was a big part of what made the show successful with his choice of news stories and his produced bits. The show really caught fire and became more well known during the Twins’ legendary run to the 1987 World Series. Tom Barnard pays tribute to his one time Tom & Dan Show cohort.

Dan was a special guest on the KQ Morning Show back in 2018 when we were celebrating the 50th anniversary of KQRS. Take a listen…

Today, we are remembering DAN CULHANE, who has passed away. When Tom Barnard started his long run with KQ in 1986, Dan...

Though inferior to the first two films in the franchise, The Godfather Part III is still “The Godfather” and was nominated for seven Oscars including Best Picture (losing to Dances With Wolves.)

Francis Ford Coppola has improved upon the film with a newly recut version called The Godfather Coda: The Death of Michael Corleone.

Hear Tim Lammers (DirectConversations.com) review The Godfather Coda on the KQ Morning Show (below) and read his recent interview with Talia Shire (Connie Corleone) at Looper.com

Tim Lammers Discusses The War with Grandpa with Robert De Niro

The 2020 family comedy, The War with Grandpa, has an all-star cast featuring Robert De Niro, Uma Thurman, Cheech Marin, Jane Seymour and Christopher Walken.

Tim Lammers was able to spend time over Zoom interviewing members of the cast.

In a Looper.com exclusive, Robert De Niro talked to Tim Lammers about reuniting onscreen with Christopher Walken, 42 years after The Deer Hunter:

“I was told that they were thinking about having Chris in the film and I was very happy about that. It was a matter of just getting him and working it all out, so it was great. It was great for him to be in it, and we’ve known each other a long time, obviously, and it was very nice to have him in it.”

Composer Derek Amato

After a 2006 head injury, composer Derek Amato became a sudden musical savant. He’s composing music in his head 24 hours a day. During their discussion, Tom revealed that he himself dreams in numbers, and Mr. Amato knows exactly what he means by that, and he can relate.

Derek Amato details his extraordinary gift in his book My Beautiful Disaster: My brain injury, my gift, my life.

Lyrics

Twins, you really got me goin’,
You got me dreamin’ ‘bout October alright
Twins, you really got me now
You got the Bomba Counter climbin’ tonight
Twins, you really got me now
I’ve got my Homer Hanky up in the air
Ah yeah, you really got me now
I’m might be crazy but I don’t even care

(You really got me)
TWINS!
(You really got me)
TWINS!
(You really got me)
LET’S  GO  TWINS!

Twins, you really got me now
You got me saying “Baby, Let it Sano”
Yeah, you really got me now
And La Tortuga’s always ready to go
Yeah, Polanco’s coming for ya
And Cruz and Kepler gotta hit some home runs
Oh yeah, we’re breaking records out here
And I’d be lying if we said that we’re done

(You really got me)
TWINS!
(You really got me)
TWINS!
(You really got me)
LET’S  GO  TWINS!

(Bridge) Eddie! Eddie! Eddie! Eddie! Eddie Eddie! Eddie Eddie!

Twins, you really got me goin’,
You got me dreamin’ ‘bout October alright
Twins, you really got me now
You got the Bomba Counter climbin’ tonight
Twins, you really got me now
I’ve got my Homer Hanky up in the air
Ah yeah, you really got me now
I’m might be crazy but I don’t even care

(You really got me)
TWINS!
(You really got me)
TWINS!
(You really got me)
LET’S  GO  TWINS!
