Joan Jett gave Mike Tyson a wake-up call before his bout against Larry Simms.

Tyson knocked out Sims in 3 rounds, to advance his record to 6-0

Jett would call Tyson before his next 31 bouts; all of which, he won.

However, she forgot to call him before his fight with Buster Douglas.

Tyson would suffer his first loss after being knocked-out in 10 rounds.

JULY 21, 1987: APPETITE FOR DESTRUCTION
Guns N\’ Roses did very well for themselves with their debut album, Appetite for Destruction, boasting three top 10 singles:

Five months after the death of Bon Scott, AC/DC had a new album with Geordie\’s Brian Johnson on lead vocals.

Back in Black has sold over 18 million copies in the US thanks to songs like \”Rock and Roll Ain\’t Noise Pollution\”, \”You Shook Me All Night Long\”, and \”Hells Bells\”.

With 50 million sold worldwide, Back In Black remains #2 bestselling album of all time, behind Michael Jackson\’s Thriller.

JULY 25, 1975: BOWIE RELEASES \”FAME\”
\”Fame\” was the second single from Bowie\’s Top 10 album, Young Americans.

The song was co-written with John Lennon, who also provided guitar and background vocals.

\”Fame\” became Bowie\’s first US #1 single, spending two non-consecutive weeks at the top spot in September \’75.
