Fleetwood Mac\’s self-titled (white) album makes it to #1 a year after its release.

It was the band\’s first album to feature Lindsey & Stevie.

SEPTEMBER 6, 1997: ELTON PERFORMS AT PRINCESS DIANA\’S FUNERAL

Elton John performs \”Candle in the Wind\” at Princess Diana\’s funeral.

He swaps the words \”Goodbye Norma Jean\” for \”Goodbye England\’s Rose.\”

SEPTEMBER 7, 1987: A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON

Pink Floyd releases A Momentary Lapse of Reason.

Containing the songs \”Learning to Fly\” and \”On the Turning Away\”, it is the band\’s first album without founding member Roger Waters.
