JOHN LENNON – POWER TO THE PEOPLE
This 12-disc box set is less a compilation and more a historical document. Curated by Sean Ono Lennon, Power to the People dives deep into John and Yoko’s politically charged New York years. The Super Deluxe Edition includes remixed concerts, demos, home recordings, and a reimagined Sometime in New York City that finally sounds like it should’ve. There’s raw energy, messy brilliance, and a whole lot of Yoko (in a good way). It’s exhaustive, but also exhilarating. For fans who want more than just “Imagine,” this is Lennon unplugged, unfiltered, and unapologetic.

ORCHESTRAL MANOEUVRES IN THE DARK – CRUSH (40TH ANNIVERSARY)
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark’s Crush was their big American moment, and this reissue makes it clear why. It highlights a shift from the “thinking man’s” synth pop during a time when New Wave was moving toward more mindless pop sounds. Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys were still creating those dark harmonies but with a tighter production that made “So In Love” and “Secret” hit with a new and younger audience. The bonus disc is full of demos, extended mixes, and unreleased tracks that show just how much OMD were experimenting and how 40 years on the album still resonates.

PATTI SMITH – HORSES (50TH ANNIVERSARY)
Fifty years ago, Patti Smith was an established (if unexpected) figure in the New York art scene. The painter, performance artist, and punk poet had created a buzz around her signing to Arista records and putting out her debut. Horses did not disappoint in 1975, and the 50th Anniversary edition of remastered tracks, unreleased demos, and a few surprises that show just how ahead of her time she was. “Gloria” still snarls, “Birdland” still floats, and the new liner notes give you a peek into the chaos and magic of 1975. Smith’s voice—half punk, half prophet—is as urgent now as it was then.
