GREEN DAY – “I’M NEVER GONNA R.I.P.”
THE ROLLING STONES – FOREIGN TONGUES
I was just reading an article this week in NME where Mick Jagger shared that he’s already writing his next album. Foreign Tongues, is out this week with the band still tentative about touring it (Keith Richards is unsure about being on the road that much) and The Stones are just rolling on to the next. You, on the other hand, should give this one a listen. The harmonies sound great, the band is playing just as well as they did decades ago, Mick’s voice is charming and strong out front.
A wonderful moment of their blues root coming through is, “Divine Intervention,” with Mick Jagger sounding surprisingly fired up as he takes swings at modern anxieties and unfolding chaos. The track also features contributions from The Cure‘s Robert Smith on guitar and Steve Winwood on keyboards, because why not?

JACK WHITE – FROZEN CHARLOTTE
Jack White has spent much of his solo career zig-zagging between experiments, and Frozen Charlotte feels like a conscious decision to lean back into what he does best: loud guitars, strange ideas, and raw energy. Recorded with the same touring band that powered 2024’s No Name, the fuzz is up and they are attacking every song with vigor.
This is some devil went down to Georgia sounds, leaning heavy on the guitar to do the storytelling through a mix of blues, garage rock, psychedelic and heavier sounds. Taking something as familiar as the story of Adam and Eve, and breathing new life into it like they do on, “G.O.D And The Broken Ribs.” These are going to sound great when he comes back to The Armory in November.
