The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation has announced its nominees for the Class of 2026, and 92KQRS’s Steve Gorman is nominated for a second time as a member of his former rock & roll combo, The Black Crowes. 10 of the 17 artists have been nominated for the first time, with three receiving their second, and four their third
The 17 artists, in alphabetical order, are:
- The Black Crowes – second nomination
- Jeff Buckley – first nomination
- Mariah Carey – third nomination
- Phil Collins – first nomination
- Melissa Etheridge – first nomination
- Lauryn Hill – first nomination
- Billy Idol – second nomination
- INXS – first nomination
- Iron Maiden – third nomination
- Joy Division/New Order – third nomination
- New Edition – first nomination
- Oasis – third nomination
- P!NK – first nomination
- Sade – second nomination
- Shakira – first nomination
- Luther Vandross – first nomination
- Wu-Tang Clan – first nomination
To be eligible for nomination, an individual artist or band must have released their first commercial recording at least 25 years prior to the year of nomination.
Nominee ballots will be sent to an international voting body of more than 1200 artists, historians and members of the music industry.
The selection criteria includes an artist’s impact on music culture, influence on other musicians that have followed, as well as the scope and longevity of their career and body of work. And once again you can cast your ballot at Vote.RockHall.com. You can choose up to seven nominees per day.
