Darius Rucker stopped by TODAY for a chat to discuss Howl Owl Howl featuring his pals Mike Mills and Steve Gorman, formerly of R.E.M and The Black Crowes, respectively.
He explained how a school fundraiser ended up being the catalyst for forming the band. Rucker emphasized how much it means to him to work with his musical heroes, saying it’s “pretty awesome” to be in a band with the people who were so influential to him when he was growing up.
He also discusses his recent engagement, his daughter’s impressive songwriting chops; and reacts to a brief video cameo from his bandmates Mike Mills and Steve Gorman.
