THE BLACK KEYS – NO RAIN, NO FLOWERS
The duo of Patrick Carney and Dan Auerbach, have expanded their ambitions since the early days when The Black Keys was their main focus. They have a record label, recording studio, there are coffee shops, solo records, outside albums produced and bands joined. It makes sense that 13 albums later they have opened the doors to collaborators. No Rain, No Flowers sees The Black Keys adding songwriters Daniel Tashian and Rick Nowels to add a little pop shimmer to their fuzzed out bluesy sound.

FLEETWOOD MAC – FLEETWOOD MAC
Earlier this year Fleetwood Mac celebrated the 50th anniversary of their (technically) tenth album and second self-titled album. But July 11, 1975 was a reintroduction, the old blues band was out and new kids Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham were in. This was a complete shift; harmony driven and rocking. The newly remastered edition shows off the group’s first US chart toppers and fan favorites, including 7-inch singles with the original single mixes.

NILSSON – DUIT ON MON DEI/SANDMAN
A couple of underrated albums from extremely talented and extremely troubled musician Harry Nilsson are getting the reissue treatment; Duit on Mon Dei and Sandman. The 1975 album, Duit on Mon Dei, was Nilsson‘s first time as his own producer and a wild list of talented musicians backing him (like Ringo Starr, Dr. John, and Gloria Jones). Sandman is another late era album (1976) and features “The Flying Saucer Song” with Joe Cocker. It’s a time period for Nilsson marked by all of his own quirks – not the easiest listen, but a look at an unleashed artist allowed to linger in their own mind and cater to all their own whims.
