Following the “White Album”, the Beatles hunkered down to make a record free of overdubs and studio trickery in an effort to “Get Back” to their roots.

A camera crew was on hand to capture the sessions, which marked a low point in the Fab Four’s career and ended with their famed rooftop concert at Apple Records in January 1969.

Last year, director Peter Jackson revealed that he has 55 hours of previously unseen footage and 140 hours of audio that he plans to turn into a documentary. Now there might be a release date.

According to a post by the Daily Beatle, a companion book titled Get Back: The Beatles has popped up on Amazon, taking pre-orders in advance of October 15, hinting that Jackson’s film may be ready by the fall.
