SIDE TWO | All Things Must Pass

SIDE TWO | All Things Must Pass

All Things Must Pass isn’t just one of the best solo albums from a former Beatle, it’s one of the best albums of the 1970s.

Rolling Stone only ranked it #433 in their list of the 500 Greatest Albums of all time and Kanye West’s Late Registration ranked #118.  So, that shows how much credibility they have.

All Things Must Pass does have a few filler tracks at the end of the album (sides 5 & 6), but there’s no denying this is a fantastic album.

Many of these songs on All Things Must Pass were written by Harrison to be included on Revolver and Let It Be, but were rejected by The Beatles.

Let’s focus on Side Two of All Things Must Pass. It’s one of those vinyl sides you want to listen to over and over. As “Run of the Mill” sweetly fades out, you’re already getting up from your chair so you can place the needle at the outer edge of the record and start over again with “What Is Life”.

It features “What Is Life” (GH’s second top 10 single), “If Not For You” (a Dylan cover), “Behind That Locked Door”, “Let It Down” (featuring Eric Clapton and Badfinger, it was written for Let It Be but was rejected by The Beatles), “Run of the Mill” (which is said to be about his decaying relationship with the Beatles).

If you’re familiar with the album, you’re already aware of its genius.

If All Things Must Pass is a new experience for you, you must check out the album. It’s a long album, best consumed in small doses as it grows on you.

Grab a cup of coffee and listen to side two of All Things Must Pass.
