KQ’S nighttime DJ, Lisa Miller, was born in Lincoln, Nebraska. She and her family then moved to California where she went to school. Lisa revealed that she had planned on becoming an accountant. However, she soon discovered her love for radio through a contest by a local radio station, KLOS FM of Los Angeles. Not only did Lisa win the contest but she also scored an internship with the station and unsurprisingly doors began to open. She has worked for stations in Los Angeles, Orlando and Chicago until she decided to make Minneapolis her home. Some may remember her up-beat personality from The Edge.

Though Lisa started her career in sunny California, she says Minneapolis is a “nice area” and Minnesota winters don’t bother her. In her spare time she likes to track through the snow with her snowmobile. In the summer she enjoys boating with her friends.

Other interesting facts about Lisa is that she would like to meet British physicist and genius Stephen Hawking. She says he would be first on her list if she could have dinner with anyone in the world. When asked who is the person she most admires she said her current boss Dave Hamilton and “no I’m not sucking up!” Lisa is most proud of her tenacity. Without it she wouldn’t be where she is today.
