If you can’t wait to hear what’s in store for Jimi Hendrix’s new album — a compilation of unreleased studio recordings due this March — you can listen to the first track off People, Hell & Angels online for free.
‘Earth Blues’ is one of the 12 songs recorded from 1968 to 1970 that was meant to be included in Hendrix’s unreleased First Rays of the New Rising Sun record. He was working the record before he passed away in 1970, apart from the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
In 2010, Hendrix’s Valleys of Neptune album introduced another 12 unreleased songs from the First Rays record. People, Hell & Angels is meant to complement that album, and will give fans the chance to hear a different side of Hendrix, captured only in his solo work.
