STORY: New coroner's dummy looks almost human

SANTA ANA – Deputy Coroners, meet "Manny the Mannequin."

 At about 80 pounds, this balding silicone dummy is the newest addition to the Orange County Sheriff Department's coroner division. With porous skin, varicose feet and human hair, the life-like mannequin was purchased by the sheriff's department with a grant to add a new dimension to their training, authorities said. In their Santa Ana headquarters, the sheriff's coroner division has used dummies in their training before, but none are as life-like as this newest addition. The dummy comes from a Burbank company that has spawned similar creations for recent television shows such as Nip/Tuck and Grey's Anatomy.
