It’s been a sad couple of days for classic rock. We lost Eddie Money on Friday, September 13. Then on Sunday, September 15, we shockingly lost Ric Ocasek of The Cars.
Here are a few of the tributes that fellow rockers posted to social media in honor of Ric Ocasek.
The weezer family is devastated by the loss of our friend and mentor Ric Ocasek, who passed away Sunday. We will miss him forever, & will forever cherish the precious times we got to work and hang out with him. Rest in Peace & rock on Ric, we love you. #RIPRicOcasek #karlscorner pic.twitter.com/JcTXevr6V8

In the late 70’s, in between my obsessions for Kiss, the Ramones, The Clash & The Sex Pistols, I also was a big fan of The Pretenders, the B-52’s, the Police, Devo & The Cars…the 1st two albums are classics from start to finish. Ric was an insanely influential artist for my generation of musicians and songwriters. His solo 1982 record, Beauitude, might be my favorite. Rest In Peace. Your musical legacy lives forever. #rip #ricocasek #thecars https://t.co/ES9sNNzugh
