In 1975, I went to boot camp in San Diego then spent a lot of the rest of my time as a Marine at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. I received many awards for running and also The Meritorious Mast for being an exemplary marine! I also worked out at the same gym where Leon Spinks trained before his fight with Muhammad Ali!
I have a lot of good memories but I also have some pretty bad ones as well. Unfortunately my health is suffering these days because of the water contamination during my time at Camp Lejeune.
