WEEKDAYS / 10A – 1P

. . .

When did you start at KQ?

1979. They haven’t been able to get ride of me since!

. . .

Favorite concert memory:

Many, but two stand out. Bruce Springsteen wore out the audience with a marathon show in 1984. He began his “Born in the U.S.A.” tour in St. Paul. Also, Pink Floyd at the Dome in 1988.

. . .

Random celebrity moment:

Right after I started working at KQ, Van Halen stopped in for an interview on a Sunday. After that I wondered… “Are they all like David Lee Roth?”

. . .

Favorite watering hole past and present:

Long gone, but Duffy’s in South Minneapolis was home to many KQ promotions. Never forget a KQ “low dough” 92-cent concert with John Mellencamp. If they only knew that day where his career was headed. Only a couple people watched him. Most decided to play volleyball outdoors! No favorite water holes currently.

. . .

Favorite behind-the-scenes radio moment?

I have endured many past pranks by the KQ Morning Show. It’s what midday guys do… I’ll never forget getting those lemony urinal pucks for one of my birthdays!

. . .

Got any hobbies?

Sports, stocks and feeding deer in my backyard. They’re always happy to see me in the Winter.

. . .

Is there something you feel strongly about?

I have done many fund raising events over the years. Some of my favorites were not necessarily the ones that did the best financially, but were extremely inspiring by the passion displayed by the volunteers. You hear about the bad things every day, seldom do you hear about all the good things that are happening.
